Sacramento marathon
Today was the day of the Sacramento marathon, or the California International Marathon.

The event started in Folsom, now a quiet suburb northeast of the state capital (with a famous prison).
R was running, I was a tourist for the day and shuttled her to the start line at a most ungodly hour. At the time (just before dawn), it was (almost) freezing:
It turned out to be a beautiful, sunny but chilly day.

It was a nicely organized event, R did great and I had fun cycling around and taking pictures.
I like our capitol better than the one in DC; ours has orange and palm trees in the yard:
