This time of the year is an excellent time to go to Yosemite: the snow has receded so most hiking trails are accessible, the waterfalls are quite glorious due to the plentiful snow melt water and there are no real crowds yet. So hikemeister Ayatollah Hombre (in CA for the weekend) and yours truly took off early last saturday, drove to the Valley and started hiking up Yosemite Falls.

It was a beautiful day, the views were grand and the falls magnificent; and I got to play with my newest toy!

This interesting corona/rainbow around the sun was courtesy of the fine mist of waterdrops in the air near the Yosemite Falls. More bits and pics are posted here.
