Napa Valley

Saturday was Napa day – Napa Valley is the Bay Area’s own private Tuscany (some may prefer Sonoma Valley though). Go and watch the excellent ‘Sideways’ to get an idea what a Napa day can be like (though the movie is set in Santa Barbara’s wine country).

The Nieubaum-Coppola winery. The story goes that the Godfather Part III has only been made because of the studio’s threatening to shut down Coppola’s winery (they took over the debt the winery was generating).
There’s a nice museum with artefacts from Coppola movies (such as the Godfather’s Oscar’s) inside the winery.

I love the smell of Pinot Noir in the morning.
